Brian received his undergraduate education from the University of Texas in Austin. Brian pursued a double major while at the University of Texas, and in 2002 he received his B.A. in English and History. After graduation, Brian attended St. Mary’s University School of Law where he was awarded his J.D. in 2005. Brian was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in November 2005.
Before joining Allen & Associates, L.L.P., Brian worked as a landman in Zapata, Jim Hogg, Starr and Webb County for Abstract & Title Resources Inc. Brian’s land work included building run sheets, drafting curative instruments, supplemental record checks and satisfying various drilling requirements for Original and Division Order Title Opinions.
Brian has been an Oil and Gas Attorney with Allen & Associates, L.L.P. since 2005 as an associate attorney, and since January 2009 as Partner. Brian exclusively practices Oil, Gas and Mineral Law and has rendered hundreds of title opinions and worked extensively in South Texas and the Barnett Shale, as well as the Haynesville Shale, the Eagle Ford Shale, and throughout the Gulf Coast of Texas and Oklahoma.
Brian is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the State Bar of Kansas and the State Bar of Oklahoma. Brian is also a member of the State Bar of Texas Oil, Gas and Energy Resources Section, a member of the San Antonio Bar Association Natural Resources Section, and a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas. Brian also belongs to the San Antonio Association of Professional Landmen and the Oklahoma City Association of Professional Landmen.
